A recent announcement I happened upon in doing some research may be of interest
to some sites...

Customers looking to satisfy regulatory recording requirements via tape rather
than optical media, and those seeking "economy" (shorter) 3592 tapes may want to
look into a recent IBM announcement:

  IBM United States Hardware Announcement 104-150

  IBM TotalStorage Enterprise Tape 3592 Model J1A enhanced to support WORM and
  short (60 GB) media

Note that the 3584 tape library will support 3592 media, as of June 11.
