Dave - Just to add to previous postings:

You can use the COPied=Yes parameter of Query CONtent to verify that
files on that damaged volume are represented in copy storage pool
volumes.  As per a previous posting, if the volume had new data which
was not handled by a Backup Stgpool operation, then it's not recoverable
from TSM storage.  With luck, it may still be on the client.
