One of our TSM clients is a Linux mail server with the message store
in the /var file system. About a month ago the mail store was switched
to local tape backup and excluded from TSM coverage using an exclude.dir
statement in the include/exclude file. Expiration processes have been
stuck in that client's /var file system for almost a week now, inspecting
millions of objects and expiring none. Adding up the 'Inspected' column
of the summary table shows that expiration processes have inspected 14.8
million objects since the last time anything was expired. A 'query occ'
command reports just under 7 million objects in the file system.

The TSM server is at 5.1.7.2 and is running under OS/390 2.10. The client
software is at 5.1.6.0.
