I moved the tape with tapeutil to an I/O-slot and then tried a Label
Libvolume on it, but all TSM gave me was:

17-12-2003 14:55:20  ANR8841I Remove volume from slot 30 of library
3575LIB at your convenience.

Is the tape write-protected?  I've seen the same log msg when
(inadvertently) attempting to label a write-protected tape in a 3583.  I
have no hands-on experience with the 3575, so I can't say that it would
respond the same, but it's worth taking a look.
