Whenever a tape is stuck in a mounting/dismounting state, you need to
physically check the drive for a malfunction.  Many times I've
dealt with 3590 tapes stuck in drives.

If the drive shows an error code, record the numbers.  Then try
unload from its front panel.  If no good, try Reset Drive.
If still no good, try power-cycling the drive.  In all cases,
put ejected tape into slot 1 of the library and later massage
it back into circulation in TSM; and call for CE attention.
