If its only 20GB, why not run a selective backup once per week/fortnight/month
on just that directory?
That will give you an extra copy and may push old inactive versions into the
bit bucket, but you get a single consolidated tape.

The problem is with the disk layout (not done by myself).
The 160GB disk (seen by TSM as one filespace) is filled with
20GB of profiles and 140GB of programs and other files.
We keep this files for 4 months so now this data is spread over
88 3590 cartridges.
So I think the only solution to save the user profiles in
their own filespace and enable filespace collocation.
