Reading all these messages I think its clear that the client documentation
has to be updated to answer all these questions from a users point of few
and not to the experience of the user.

replace = no story. If you try to save a file with the same name to a
directory the OS will not let you, so replace=no will not restore the file;

sending files with replace=no. The data is sent to the client and the client
will skip the file.

There is a separate issue that has never been clear to me. If a file
is not written to disk because of the "replace=no" option, does the TSM
server refrain from reading the file from tape, or does the TSM server
read the file and send it to the client, only to have the client code
discard the data?
