TDP for Oracle 2.2.1, Oracle 9i and 8.0.6

Hi TSM gurus,

I have installed the 64-bit version of TDP for Oracle 2.2.1 on a HP-UX
11.00 9000/800 maschine.
Linking and backup of a 9i database runs fine.

Is my understanding correct that I have to install the 32 bit library of
TDPO 2.2.1 to backup a 
8.0.6. database on this machine?
Our DB gurus tried to link the 64 bit library to the 8.0.6 database but
got lots of errors.
