It is fine now.  I just found out that you need to hardcode the port number on 
the dsmserv.opt and not just on the set it on the server status.

A vital piece of information may be in your server Activity Log regarding
the session attempt.
I would use 'netstat', 'lsof', or like commands on the server system to
verify that the port number you believe that the server is to respond to
is actually active in it.
