Which would explain the "more money licensing scheme" coupled with the
frustrating experience of toggling over to TSM administration from
routine AIX administration, especially with respect to trying to iron
out all the pre-reqs and patches needed, while maintaining service in a
production environment.

I agree with the comments of others here that the product is a good one,
but the product management severely could use more detailed attention
from IBM, which needs to act a bit more like a parent in this case, it
seems.
