For your unix type environments you could have the script fired off via
nohup & push it into the background, then have the script sleep for 60
seconds or so to give the event time to complete.

but depending on your situation and who might have their fingers in what
pie...
      remember, a backup that excludes everything will do nothing but
return success.

So another thing you might try is to mail yourself a tail of your
sched.log...

Hi

I run a postschedulecmd to send a e-mail  for the backup status
(Completed,Missed,Failed) , the process run correctly but instead of
receiving one of the status I received just "Started".

I understand that the postschedulecmd run after the end of the backup so
why
I received "Started" and not the correct status .....
