I've had this happen with a 3494 - turned out the motor that slides
the picker in and out had seized. Our quick fix was to slide the belt
off the cog on the motor-gearbox. This freed the slider, so we could
get the tape out. The robot kept going with its one remaining good
gripper until IBM H/W support arrived.

If i move the arm the fingers of the picker will break, I
cant push the tape either way.

Just open the library and remove it...thats all I ever do
if we have a stuck tape in the drive or in the arm (only
happened once)

HI,

library 3575L12.

The picker has gotten a tape stuck between itself and a
tapeslot!
I've been looking in the maintenance information manual
how to deal with this, but it only talks about removing a
tape mannualy when its stuck in the picker itself.
I cannot turn or move the picker in any way!
Does anyone know of documentation which does describe
this? I've tried moving the picker by the menu's on the
library, but this didnt work!
