Have you by any chance taken a look at your 'system objects' filespaces?
It was somewhere in the 4.1 release on OS/390 2.10 that we got bit big
time by this issue.  DB kept growing and growing and couldn't get
through expiration processing.

Will skipdirs=yes cause more overhead and performance problems?  Right
now
I only have a 5 GB recovery log (which I have also been having issues
with)
and I don't want to crash the TSM server.  Thanks!

Have you tried running expiration with skipdirs=yes?  This may run
quicker
and expire most of the data.

When we had long runing expirations we did this (also running regular
expiration).

Another of my problems is that expiration hasn't been able to run from
beginning to end, I set a duration of approximately 7 hours.  Could this
also be causing performance/DB growth?  Thanks!
