On AIX say TOPAS of root or TOP if non-root .You will find the bottle necks
of all resources.Also if u could give vmstat output it will be helpful.

I got nailed by this on my servers.
Sessions intermittently slowing to a crawl. Noticed it first with our nt 4.0
clients, then I would see it in TDP for exchange clients and W2K clients.
But not always the same servers each day. Got lucky with the ITSM level 2
guy, he recognized it right away. That was after 2 client PMRs and 1 AIX PMR
ended with no solution.
