Hi,

as far as I now it is not possible neither with TSM nor with another backup
systems.

I did this on NT4 and on OS2 
with http://www.lanicu.com/ utilities,
as far as I know they are still in business and support newer OS´es as well.

It worked like this: 
        1) capture (=backup) security information
        into text file
        2) edit it, if you wish
        3) apply (=restore) the information from text files to NT.

I liked it very much, 
I preffered it even for changing access right 
to using GUI (unless for trivial tasks)

Betreff: restore NTFS security information


Hi,

Someone in my company is changing the NTFS rights on several key systems.
Now the server administrators are asking if it is possible to restore only
the NTFS security information without restore the whole server. I took a
quick look but it can't find the option to just that. Anyone knows the way
to accomplish that?
