Hi Zoltan Forray,

Could you elaborate the steps which is suggested by IBM support person for
recycling the TSM server.

Thanks,

Thank you for the response.

However, the filespaces were simply locked. Whether I tried to delete the
archives or backups, nothing would happen. The action would timeout and
disconnect my web admin session.

I was contacted by an IBM/Tivoli support person who suggested recycling
the TSM server. I did and this cleared it.

It seems that my failed import attempt left things in a hung/locked state.

"del fi <node> *" defaults to "Type=Any" (look @ Admin's Ref. Gd.). Try
the following variant:
"del fi <node> * t=ar"
This will delete only archived filespaces keeping all backups intact.

I am trying not to do this. As I mentioned, I am testing IMPORT MERGE
FILESPACES. So, I have already performed BACKUPS to this server and was
trying to import ARCHIVEs.

If I have to, I will deleted everything, but I would like to know what is
going on and why ? If I have this problem with my production system, I
will not be able to simply DELETE * !!!

I am experiencing a strange issue on my test TSM server.

I am test IMPORT MERGE FILESPACES with 5.1.6.2 before I put 5.1.6.2 into
production (I really need the MERGE FILESPACES option....things are being
held up without this feature, in trying to move some large nodes from one
TSM server to another).

Well, I kinda goofed and didn't include all of the EXPORT tapes. The
IMPORT failed with:

02/25/03 13:16:48 ANR4707E Import operation terminated - incomplete
input volume list.
02/25/03 13:16:48 ANR0794E IMPORT NODE: Processing terminated
abnormally error accessing data storage.

So, now I am trying to go back and DELETE the partially imported
filespaces, via the web-gui.

Now, every time I try this, as soon as I click on SUBMIT, my session hangs
and after a few minutes, the session is terminated. Checking the activity
logs, I find:

02/27/03 14:17:47 ANR0538I A resource waiter has been aborted.
02/27/03 14:17:47 ANR0538I A resource waiter has been aborted.
02/27/03 14:17:47 ANR2020E DELETE FILESPACE: Invalid parameter - 5.
02/27/03 14:17:47 ANR2020E DELETE FILESPACE: Invalid parameter - 3.

I even tried to simply update the node information and things hung :

02/27/03 15:55:47 ANR2033E UPDATE NODE: Command failed - lock
conflict.

I have tried this 4 times with the same results.

What gives ? How do I clear this so I can retry the IMPORT ?
