Directories get bound to the mgmt class with the longest retention in that
policy domain. You can bind the directories to a specific mgmt class with
the DIRMC option. Be careful that it as at least the same retention
policies as the files on your server.

I am sure others on the list will give you some more specifics.

Matt

Hello,

i tested a client backupresults by q backup command:
the result ist, the files are saved with the default managementclass, thats
all right. But the directories all show a diffrent managmentclass, which
this client should never heard off. It is not in the dsm.opt/dsm.sys file.
This managementclass saves data for 6 years. The corresponding stg-pool
contains data from a lot of clients, but there should be only one. The
default managementclass for all policydomains isnt this managmentclass.

The server is 4.2.2.7, for now i only checked 2 clients 5.1.5 Linux(Debian),
4.1.2.12 NT 4.0 (This client hasnt touch for 1 year, the wrong
managementclass exist only a few weeks)

Whats gone wrong, is this a bug?

Thanxs
