I have done export/import of client data from AIX TSM to Windows TSM with no
problem.
I've also done export/import from AIX TSM to AIX TSM and had it FAIL because
the target server was downlevel.

I suspect it depends on how many changes have occurred to the DB structure
between the two versions, but I don't know for sure.  I also think Tivoli
doesn't test export/import between all the possible
combinations/permutations of server platforms & versions. 

So you can give it a shot, but if I were you I would either TEST THE RESULTS
very thoroughly, or plan on upgrading the target server to the same level
before you start.

Well, I have successfully exported nodes to tape and disk from an MVS server
and imported to a Solaris server, and the other way around - but it's always
been to very close version/fix numbers on the servers.  Get too far apart,
(going backwards at least) and the import complains about downlevel servers.

We are using TSM version 4.2 on an AIX server.  We need to move TSM user's
that are on a MVS server running TSM version 5.1 to our AIX server.  Has
any one had any experience exporting node and sever data from a newer TSM
server version to an older one?  Also in the exporting has anyone
encountered any problems moving TSM across different OS's.  Any responses
are appreciated.
