archiving questions

Hi all,
A client of mine requests that 220GB of databases are being "archived" on
tape and kept for 3 years.
I've been looking for a way on how to do this but the manuals only speak of
how the archive client command works. Not really on how things work on the
serverside. I assume I'll have to make another managementclaas which defines
how long to keep trhe files etc. but I'm not sure how to go about this.
below are the specifics on our current mg classes; the domain I'm speaking
of is the one called progress.
Does anyone have some ideas on how to do this?
thnx a lot,
michelle
