Sounds like one of those Dilbert manager assigned tasks...
TSM does not support the server administrator meddling with individual files,
not even to inspect their attributes: that can only be done from a client
compatible with the one which stored the files.
In any case, someone in your shop is "flailing".  The real solution is for
the PCs there to rigorously employ and automatically run virus scanning
software.  Only in situ can viruses be properly detected and handled.
