Either they are "low budget" or go for support. I cannot understand the
bargain here.
If ADSM 3.1 works fine with AIX 4.3.3 who would care if the latter goes
out of support if the former is out of support for years? The lowest price
cannot fall under $0.
OTOH "maintenance after license" (license upgrade of ADSM to ITSM) is
still cheaper than new ITSM or competitive product purchase. And you have
to count migration efforts for "software other than TSM".
7331-305 is 2 drive/20 slots. This means ITSM Base Edition which is very
aggresively priced. How low is that "low budget" and how many processors
those systems have? At the end which is lower - the price for maintenance
or the value of the protected data !?!

Low budget operation needs to migrate servers AIX
4.3.3 to 5.1/5.2 before they go off support in
December. We're currently using an old version of
ADSM 3.1 sever on these systems for backup to a
7331-305.

Has anyone gotten ADSM v3.1 to work on AIX v5.1 or
5.2?

If not does anyone have recommendationtion for
software other than TSM for a low budget, under a TB,
and a hand full of AIX clients?

Thanks
JP
