On your old sever, were the Oracle backups going directly to tape
or to a disk pool first? It looks like on the new server they are
trying
to go directly to tape. You don't have a disk pool in line before the
tape
pool? It tries to go to tape and the drives are all in use.

Check the storage pool hierarchy.

All,

Has anyone had this situation before? We have TDP for Oracle 2.1.0.10
(4.1.2
API) on an AIX 4.3.3 machine backing up to what WAS a 4.1 TSM server,
which,
in the last week, was upgraded to 4.2.2.0. Before the upgrade Oracle
TDP
backups were fine - since the TSM Server upgrade we get the following
messages in the Activity log and the backups haven't worked since:

19-10-2002 03:32:14 ANR0406I Session 4867 started for node

The boxed areas are possible causes of this failure.
We can't give the backup a higher priority because it's part of a
postschedcommand which logs in to the TSM server as another node
(ORC_LIVETCS1) where the normal node is LIVETCS1. Any ideas (other
than
setting up another schedule with alternative priority options) to
prevent
this are welcome.

I've looked for details on the second error we got but all results
point to
a required increase in the resourceutilisation/mountpoints (7023) or a
communications error (-50) but we had no problems before the Server
upgrade
so I'm thinking that perhaps they're related.

So it's back to the first question. Has anyone else had this problem
and
discovered that, in the end, TDP 2.1 for Oracle can't talk to a 4.2
server
for some reason or another.

Much appreciated.
Cheers,
