We have a client on MVS O/E wich worked fine till last weekend (there was
an upgrade of the MVS (2.10 ->Z/OS 1.1) and now the client can do
everything but backup or archive. All Query's and restores work. The client
hangs (when incremental, selective or archive is started) and on the server
you see the session is in IDLEW wich keeps augmenting till the max is
reached. As far as i was abel to determine the functions that start an
extra session are the one's that don't work. As putting RESOURCEutilization
to 1 doesn't help i will have to try to find what in UNIX is blokking the
creation of this second proces. Since i am more an MVS than a UNIX guy i am
a bit at a loss where to start looking. It must be a UNIX configuration
issue since on an other MVS O/E system with the same MVS and TSM level
everything works fine with the same parameters for TSM, only the load on
that machine is different.
