Why the are not more definitive in their documentation we are all still
guessing. What they should say is 4.2.0.0 is the base for all 4.2.x.x
releases (or whatever appropriate) and 4.2.0.0 must be installed before any
4.2.x.x can be installed. Yes, you should be able to put on 4.2.2.13. The
problem is a language barrier in general. I typically find that those of us
that did not come from the mainframe world do not understand this lingo.

IBM is asking us to install a new patch but is requiring us to be at a base

Our server is at Storage Management Server for Windows - Version 4, Release
2, Level 2.2.
The install documentation from the link states;
Service Level
This is a Microsoft Windows Installer (MSI) installable package that will
install as level 4.2.2.13. You must have the base level
(4.2.0.0) installed.
I consider us to have the base level of 4.2.0.0 but on the other hand we are
actually past that at 4.2.2.2. Will upgrading have any negative impact, and
if there is, is there a reverse procedure for the patch.
