I called support, they said piping to a file generates more detailed
messages and I would be able to see what was going on. It would be nice if
they recommended that you pipe the output to a file in the documentation in
case there are problems.

I had the same thing occur. I was unloadding to disk, so I was able to see
that the file was still growing, so I let it run.
