Ugh! fsck can be so damaging....

How long was the machine up, before the crash? It is possible that
someone had adjusted network options without saving them to the
/etc/rc.net file, and thus your configuration is below what is needed to
run at this time.

Verify that the dsmserv process is running (it can be started from
/usr/tivoli/tsm/server/bin/rc.adsmserv). Check your memory usage for
the network (netstat -m, check for failed entries for size 256 and
2048), then check your network options (no -a). Share memory segments
are usually managed outside of the network, but if it is a TCP thing,
you'll find it there.

Oh, and check and see that loopback configured (netstat -in, netstat
-rn for interface and route, respectively). If it's not, or is down
(ifconfig lo0, check for <UP,BROADCAST,...>) you'll have connection
issues.

Hi all,
Recently our RS/6000 system took a dive. I had to reboot into
single user mode and fsck the filesystems. After doing so, I rebooted
and when I went to run ADSM with the command `dsm &`, I get the
following error:

ANS1473E Session Rejected: TCP/IP connection failure for Shared Memory

I have looked at the dsm.opt file, and there appears to be no
error
with it, as well as the dsm.sys file. Except when I enter `netstat
-n`
I see nothing running on ports 1500 or 1580.
I am stumped... any assistance will be greatly appreciated.
