Joshua,

I think you may have just re-phrased my question.

The TSM Admin. Guide (Chapter 12 (sub-head How TSM Selects Files for Policy
Operations)) speaks of being able to;
1) "request a full incremental backup"
or
2) "request a partial incremental backup"

The book sez;
1) when requesting a "full incremental backup" the mode (modified/absolute) is
checked.
2) when requesting a "partial incremental backup", no mention of mode is made.
I assume it is not even checked.

What exactly do you mean 'partial' backup? Do you mean the standard TSM
incremental backup? If so that would be in the copygroup mode
parameter. But of course from the GUI or the CLI, your users can still
request a full backup without changing this parameter on the server.

Hi fellow listers,

So here I am, "Reading the Fine Manual", and it sez; an Incremental
Backup can either be "full" or "partial"..
How can I tell if my backup(s) are requesting a "full" or "partial"
backup?
