Without going into details on how this all came about,
this
is the situation that I am in.

I am running AIX 4.3.3, Oracle 7.3.3 and TSM 4.2.1. I
also have Oracle 8.1.7.1 installed and am planning an
upgrade shortly.

Up until yesterday I was happily backing up my Ora 7
DB's using EBU to
ADSM. I installed the Oracle TDP and then my Ora 7
Backups fell in a heap.

I contacted Tivoli support and was told I had to use
RMAN to use the Oracle TDP 2.2.1
and my only option was to uninstall the TDP. I did
that and my backups
stopped working with a missing libobk.a. (I foolishly
decided that since I didn't have oracle TDP installed,
I could quite easily just commit the software - live
and learn)

I tried looking creating the symbolic link
/usr/lib/libobk.a -> /usr/lpp/adsmagent/aob/libobk.a
but then ran into problems but tried creating another
link
libApiDS.a ->
/usr/tivoli/tsm/client/api/bin/libApiDS.a

Now ebu runs but not properly. If I do an ebutool
-dblist I get errors like
EBU-543: Sbtinfo call failed while obtaining
information for "1071661028291445"
  on 07-AUG-02 20:39 [ 180862 : brufile ]
EBU-7110: Sbtinit: Invalid argument(s)
  on 08/07/2002 20:39:34 [ 199806 : britinfo ]
EBU-4302: Error occurred while querying Backup File
Set "1068551028032248"
  on 08/07/2002 20:39:34 [ 199806 : britinfo ]

I also checked my backups of the /usr/lib directory
and there were no symbolic links for the above two
before I did the installation.

Does anyone have any clues about where the symbolic
links should be for ebu to return to working order?

If I can't get it working I will have to bring my
upgrade forward and rely on an export of the database
as a backup of the database before conversion but I
don't really want to do that.

Any one got any suggestions?

Thanks
Boris
