Normally, you don't do monthly or yearly backups. However, you can do
long-term archiving, for economical or law regulations. This is normally
done by having different archive management classes, where you save for
perahaps 12 month, or 10 years.
Versions of data to keep depend on the type of data. I normally separate
fileserver data from for example application server data. Also, separating
"\program files" and other system files, from user data is another way of
customizing your backup system. You normally don't want to save 15
versions of your NT installation. However, you might want to save 15
versions of your Word documents.
But, in the long run, it all depend on the data that you're going to
backup.

Just wondering how many versions and how long you save your TSM data...
Anybody running Weekly and Monthly backups or only incrementals forever?!?
