disk caching and pct util
2002-07-19 12:50:42
I'm a newbie to TSM administration, so ya'll be gentle
with me, ok?
I have disk caching turned on for my disk storage
pool. My Pct Util has been up around 98-99% for the
last couple of days. Since my Pct Migr is currently
at 0%, and all my disks are varied online, I can
safely assume that the backup pool is filled to 98-99%
with cached files, correct?
I know that as client backups occur the cached files
are cleared out as needed. Is there a way to limit
the amount of space in the backup pool that is used
for cached files, or a way to selectively clear out
some of it? The database Pct Util is affected by the
amount of files in cache, right? I'd like to see that
number go down a little, if possible.
Thanks,
M.
