It is very likely that the command issued by TSM to the library is not
being interpreted correctly and is being seen as a SCSI "attention" command
where the library instruction is to reset upon reception of the attention
command. This is one for TSM support or the STK support... a bus analyzer
will have to be put on the line to get both sides of the interchange when
the blow up occurs. You need to find a different way to get tapes into the
library in the interim...

Hi,
I have a STK L700 (Rev. 2.36) tape library with 9840 tape drive. TSM 4.2 on
a Win2000.
I can checkout tapes but I get the following error when I try to checkin
tapes:

ANR2017I Administrator JET121 issued command: CHECKIN libvol l700_library
search=bulk status=pri checklabel=barcode
ANR0984I Process 22 for CHECKIN LIBVOLUME started in the BACKGROUND at
08:49:11.
ANR8422I CHECKIN LIBVOLUME: Operation for library L700_LIBRARY started as
process 22.
ANR8373I 003: Fill the bulk entry/exit port of library L700_LIBRARY with
all
ECARTRIDGE volumes to be processed within 60 minute(s); issue 'REPLY' along
with the request ID when ready.
ANR2017I Administrator JET121 issued command: REPLY 003
ANR8499I Command accepted.
ANR8300E I/O error on library L700_LIBRARY (OP=8401C05C, CC=210, KEY=06,
ASC=29, ASCQ=02,
SENSE=70.00.06.00.00.00.00.0C.00.00.00.00.29.02.00.00.00.00.00.00.,
Description=The device was reset due to device power-up, SCSI bus reset, or
manual tape load/eject).  Refer to Appendix D in the 'Messages' manual for
recommended action.
