Hello,
The point-in-time restore function allows you to restore the latest backup
versions created at or before the date and time you specify. If the backup
versions do not exist, then they can not be restored.
Have a look at the TSM archives at http://www.adsm.org, as this topic was
discussed almost a year ago. Try these search criteria:
+raibeck +point +time +nolimit
as a starting point.

The only dumb question is the one that goes unasked.

Subject: The workings of Point-in-Time ?
Hi,
I was just checking my TSM server on restoring using the webclient of
4.2.1.6.
When using the point-in-time options I expected to see what the filesystem
contained on the specified date and time. However, I get almost nothing,
just a file here and there. This isn't something I can use to restore from
should the need arise.
In my opinion, something is terribly wrong here - either my idea of
'point-in-time' - or my system. Does any of you have the information to
get
this problem either solved or understood?
Kind regards,
Rick Harderwijk
