Arnaud,
Here's what I found in the TSM 4.2 Reference Guide:
CONVERT ARCHIVE (Allow Clients to Query Archive Files by Description )
Use this command to improve the efficiency of a command line or API client
query of
archive files and directories using the description option. Previously, an
API client could not
perform an efficient query at all and a Version 3.1 or later command line
client could
perform such a query only if the node had signed onto the server from a GUI
at least once.
Perform this conversion only once for each node.
A GUI backup-archive client can already do a more efficient query without
this command
being issued.
Privilege Class
To issue this command, you must have system privilege, unrestricted policy
privilege, or
policy privilege for the policy domain to which the client belongs.
Syntax
CONVert Archive node_name
Wait =No
Yes
Parameters
node_name (Required)
Specifies the name of the node to be converted. This name must not contain
any
wildcard characters.
Wait
Specifies whether to wait for the server to complete processing this command
in the
foreground. This parameter is optional. The default is NO. Possible values
are:
No
Specifies that the server processes this command in the background.
Yes
Specifies that the server processes this command in the foreground
Note: You cannot specify WAIT=YES from the server console.
Examples
Perform a background conversion of the client node JAN:
Command:
convert archive jan wait=no
Related Commands
None
Hope this helps.

Brian Scott
