If you are planning to upgrade your TDP to Version 2.2 (plus you need a
patch), it has a utility called TDPOSYNC.  It lets you remove backup pieces
from the TSM DB, even if they are no longer in the RMAN catalog (a not
uncommon occurrence, we've found).
