I think you are getting mixed up by the sticky label and the electronic
label at the beginning of the tape.

Check out the tapes, delete them from the system and get them
electronically labelled:
    label libv 3494_01 labelsource=barcode checkin=scratch

(you may want to add a "search=bulk" if there is a bulk loader)

This will check them in as well.
