For many years I've dealt with another nice tool - ConfigSafe. IBM was (and
I think still does) including it on every PC and ThinkPad.
It allowed me to make "snapshots" of the system - registry, system files
(*.ini, autoexec.bat, config.sys, etc.), windows and system directories
contents.
Snapshots can be made regularly or on demand. A comparison can be made
between any two given snapshots or between a snapshot and the current state
of the system. At the end you can perform restore from snapshot - the only
thing you have to perform is deletion of files. I did it for MS Office,
Lotus Domino server and other products. Or you can restore old snapshot to
"disable" something, do some testing and restore back the latest without
any problems.
However the comparison was the best - make a snapshot, install and compare.
Everything the installer did is in front of you - addition, change or
deletion of registry keys and values, you see it.

I agree you there Nazir.

When i have screwd up my Lab machine, the only solution i got is to
have
a ghost image, of the macihe and restore it completly, before i put TSM on
the machine.

I reacently heard of a prudct called "Symantec System Works" Witch
monitores all files when you install a program and when you uninstall it i
will tell you about all the registry keys, the program left behind and if
you want the "symantec" program to remove it for you. I have not tested
this.

The removal or all the registry keys can be time consuming, and boring.
if you want to completly uninstall TSM.
I have been searching for this solution, and i havent found it yet. doesn´t
anyone have a vbs script or something that completly removes everything.

I don´t know of any other solution.
