I found out that the best way to restore files from one Netware client to
another is by using the Web Interface, and it goes like this:

Assuming that the 2 Netware Servers are called SERVERA with nodename NODEA
and SERVERB with nodename NODEB; and you want to restore from SERVERB to
SERVERA.
1) Edit the DSM.OPT from SERVERA and change the Nodename to NODEB.
2) From the TSM Web Interface, go to ObjectView -> Clients -> Client Nodes,
open the client configuration for SERVERB and change the IP address to that
of SERVERA.
3) From the previous menu in step 2, click on the link to SERVERB, which
will give you access to the file space of SERVERB.
4) Click on Restore or Retrieve, choose the files you want to restore.
Click on the Restore button, and choose the Following Location radio
button, type in the path to SERVERA ->
SERVERA\VOLUMNAME:DIRECTORY1/DIRECTORY2/

N.B. Once you complete step 1, go to the SERVERA console and LOAD DSMCAD so
that you can access SERVERA on step 4. Also make sure the syntax for the
path is typed exactly as it is in step 4.

This may seem like a lot of work, but these steps take only a few minutes,
and work every single time. I was able to restore an entire Netware server
using this procedure.

Good luck

Note that -fromnode is intended for use with Set Access, which is not in
effect in your case. The option you want to use is -nodename, which I
would recommend using first with a Query Backup to ascertain the exact
file names that are (still) available for the old node before attempting
to proceed with the restoral.
