DING!

larry's got the correct form (correct syntact to checkl instead of
ckeckl)  but add devt=3590

I know because we use it ... we don't have an operator i/o station
so we open the door and shove scratches into the available slots
(less n where n=tapes in drives) .... but only in desperation.

To be safe I prefer to have the internal label read so that I know the
vendor did what I asked him to do or that the arcus people did no degauss
the tapes on me.

So the command I use is:

checkin libvol 3494lib volr=200000,200999 search=yes checkl=barcode     \
status=scratch devt=3590

If you use search=yes without checkl=yes or checkl=barcode (ie 'no')
then it complains and confuses

cheers ... joe.f.
