Thomas,

"Tivoli claims that with v4.1.2 they've TRIED a new archiving sceme."

Great.
I can tell you from my experience with 4.1.2 that it doesn't work.

The client that's giving the most trouble is an IRIX client that I think is
at 3.1.0.7 or 3.1.0.8. We don't really want to fiddle with it because it
took us (with IBM's help by phone and on-site) ONE YEAR to get it working
properly with ADSM 3.1.

Maybe in 4.1.4???

Tivoli claims that with v4.1.2 they've tried a new archiving sceme. If
you'd
like to use the old scheme, you must specify -v2archive when running the
client (dsmc -v2archive for AIX for example). The one caveat, is that this
option is only supported in the 4.1.2 client code. We're pretty much
steaming about this right now. I shouldv'e stuck with 3.7.2 If it's not
broke, they don't upgrade!
