this is not always true. As far as I remember the AIX readme you have to
redefine your devices because the update will delete them. So write them
down first...

You should be able to install the code with almost no intervention. The
drives wont need reconfiguring, it would be as simple as upgrading from
3.7.0 to 3.7.1 for instance

Hi Chaps,

Its coming to that time of the year where we have to think about upgrading
our TSM server from 3.7.x to 4.1.x.

Can you please confirm what this process involves?.

I understand that we have to re-define the licences, but do we also have to
re-define the library, and drives, etc?.

Anywhere where I can find out more as the docs are as usual very unhelpful.
