Each drive under TSM can achieve the 15.3 MB/second rate.  I do not know much
about backing up Oracle, if you can get six session backing up simultaneously,
then you can theoretically achieve just over 91 MB/second and the Oracle
database will be backed up in just under 2 hours. However, there are other
factors that may cause the overall performance to vary.

One example, the reason the LTO drives do not reach the full streaming speed is
that TSM must commit database entries after each transaction group is written
to tape.  If the TSM database is I/O bound this will further slow down the
backup.  To optimize the size of the transactions groups review the TSM
parameters TXNGROUPMAX, TXNBYTELIMIT and SELFTUNETXNSIZE

Another factor will be the number of drives on each SCSI bus, more than two on
a bus will probably cause slow down.  There are many more issues that can
effect the overall performance of the backup.
