The 4.1.2 AIX client readme spells it out.

Tivoli Storage Manager AIX 4.3 afs buta Client

BUTA, for AFS Volume Backup with TSM (an TSM version of butc) - README
   Version 4 Release 1 Level 2 supports AFS 3.4a and AFS 3.5 .

Note: Since AFS 3.6 butc supports backups to the TSM server, buta will
not be supported on AFS 3.6 and any future AFS releases.

That's a good question. The new version of DFS isn't supported by BUTA
either. The TSM client install fails says you should uninstall any
previous
version of buta. In capital letters. With lots of asterisks. It's very
impressive.

Is buta going to be updated?

I recently saw, in TSM AFS/DFS Backup Clients, p 1, that buta
is supported on AFS 3.5 & AFS 3.6a only, but not not on AFS 3.6 and
higher.

Does anyone have information about this?
