This is what I do for my 3494, but it's not attached to the 3466-C00.

Let's say, for example, that a 3590 tape drive failed. The IBM CE enters and
wants the TSM Admin to vary the device offline so he can work with it. Where
would something like this be documented? Not TSM, nor 3590, nor 3494, nor
AIX. Are there Redbooks?

Environment is TSM 3.7.2, 3466 (AIX 4.3.2), 3494 library with 3590-E1A
drives.
