We use Backint for daily backups and the profile has the MAX_VERSIONS set
to 15 and everyone is happy except now there is a requirement for one or
more specific backups to be archived.

I have checked files and manuals and have arrived at the following theory
of how to achieve this : -

1 - change the MAX_VERSIONS to 0 in the file 'initSID.utl'
2 - change the CONFIG_FILE to refer to a new 'bki' file
'initSID.bki.archive' which will be a copy of the 'initSID.bki'
3 - change the BACKUPIDPREFIX to a new 6 figure prefix

My theory continues thus, any backup run after these changes will have
'Versioning disabled' and on completion will not have a 'Current Version'
number assigned to it so that when we revert back to MAX VERSIONS of 15 and
normal backups are run those with no current versions number will NOT be
deleted when the message 'BKI0028I version xxx and older will be deleted'

Does anyone know if this theory is sound or if not how I might archive my
objective ?
