From the confirmation when I joined.

You may leave the list at any  time by sending a "SIGNOFF ADSM-L" command
to LISTSERV AT VM.MARIST DOT EDU (or [email protected]).

Proobably without the quotes nad as the body of the message. Sometimes it seems
best to make the command the ONLY text in the body.
