What is your client level?
I ran into a similar problem on the 3.7.0.1 client.  There is an APAR
IC24882, that is fixed in 3.7.2.01 (and higher).
If your client is already current, I would call Tivoli.

.....Problem: The client is crashing in the AltStreamRead() function. This
specific crash has been diagnosed on several customers' systems. Customers
experiencing similar crashes should contact IBM support for a definitive
diagnosis, since other crashes may or may not be related to this specific
APAR. This crash can also occur on the 3.7 client. For client version 3.7.1,
the failing address is: dsmcsvc.exe: 0x0042ff8e LOCAL FIX: This problem can
occur when ADSM is backing up a file that becomes truncated in the middle of
the backup. Very often, the failure has occurred during the backup of
dsmerror.log as it was being pruned. Two circumventions are: 1) Exclude
dsmerror.log from backup 2) Turn off error log pruning
