hi,
opened a PMR with IBM  24643/469,
compared /etc/vfs    on 0 bytes another   1431 bytes ,seems problem there ,
testing same on test RS/6000 .
How do i   subscribe to comp.unix.aix ?

Shekhar - first check for filesystem full in /tmp /usr etc.
If no problems there, check your /etc/vfs (perhaps compare with another
RS/6000 which completes the mksysb with no problems). If the files are
different you may want to try correcting it yourself by copying or editing
from the other version - it's a text file, but be careful! Alternative is
to call IBM AIX support to get their help. Or you can try
searching/appending comp.unix.aix newsgroup - that one is more specific to
AIX than this one.

trying to make mksysb tapes for DRM test but gives error any idea?
# mksysb -iXm /dev/rmt0

0301-155 bosboot: mkfs failed for /tmp/Bootram.fs.

0512-016 mksysb: Attempt to create a bootable tape failed:
        bosboot -d /dev/rmt0.1 -a failed with return code 42.
