I had this happen once before. I got into a loop - I couldn't delete the
volume because of a segment reference and I couldn't move the data off of
the volume because there was no data on it. An audit vol fix=yes did
nothing. So an associate of mine fixed the problem with a DB audit. There
are several switches to such an audit that can reduce the time to complete
rather than a global db audit which could take hours. I believe the problem
is that a file has traversed two tapes and has been expired or reclaimed
properly yet the reference to one of the two tapes still remains in the DB.
Therefore, you cannot delete both references, reclaim or "fix" the volume
because one of the references no longer exists within the DB. Only an audit
of the database will fix this. (if I'm on the right track here - that is.)
