Hi Michael!

Q1 and Q2.
I think we need more info. I am not familiar with the IBM DLT drive, but
are you backing up to a disk pool (which is preferred in most cases) and
then migrating to tape, or backing up directly to tape? Don't assume the
problem is the tape drive unless you are seeing 5.5 hours moving from the
TSM disk pool to tape via migration. The delay is more likely to be in your
network or on the client machine sending the data.

Q3:
3.7.3 is just the next release of the code. When you go to the Tivoli
website to download stuff, the directory they send you to for download is
the "LATEST" directory, and this stuff is for general release. The stuff on
the FTP server in the "fixes" directory is the stuff that is still in test.

Q4: I haven't done 3.7.3.0 myself yet, but If you are applying fixes on top
of a licensed version of TSM, it SHOULD maintain your licensing. There have
been cases in the past where a maintenance install toasts the license file
and you have to reenter the REGISTER LICENSE commands, but your server copy
is still legal, you don't need to re-contract with Tivoli. The only time
you have to change you licensing is if you want to buy a new feature, or
between VERSIONS. So you can assume relicensing will be required for TSM
Version 4.

Looking forward to seeing you on the list!
