I agree wholeheartedly with you. This is not my doing and if you see me =
you
could actually see smoke coming from my ears. This one server has =
become a
real pain, not to mention the people who want all this crap. I'm not =
missing
the point believe me, it's this group of people.
I know ADSM knows where everything is and that takes a load off me and
others. Why these people feel like they have to know this kind of
information I have no clue. It really is annoying.
I do understand the idea behind the incrementals forever, unfortunately =
if
the file is deleted from the server so is it also removed from ADSM. =
This
data changes every 2 weeks, each database needs to be kept for 5 years =
once
it's removed. These are very large databases and there isn't enough =
room to
store that many versions in the library so I want to archive the data =
and
remove the tapes. I figure the only way to do this is an archive of the
particular databases every week.
If anyone has a better idea please help me out.
